The Non-identical Twins
Both are born from the same tamanu tree, mature at the same age, undergo the same cold-press process, both are un-refined virgin tamanu oil (VTO), both come in their truest color, no coloring whatsoever — but how come the colors can be different?
That is the beauty of Allah’s creation, everything is unique, all He created with the right measure and He gave guidance (Al-A’la: 3). When we can identify the uniqueness of these, we will be able to understand how not in vain His creation is.
The difference in the color of the most original tamanu oil, for example, will make it easier for users to formulate a product. For the perfume industry, people will tend to choose oils that are bright in color like golden yellow, because what will be mixed into it tends to be neutral in color and in small quantities, it needs a carrier color that is already beautiful.
On the other hand, for cosmetic and skin care products, the greenish tamanu oil will present a distinctive color to the product. The message that a product is made from an unusual oil — tamanu oil — will be immediately caught by the user even just seeing the color of the product.
Even the greenish tamanu oil is also listed in INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) as a natural green pigment, in addition to a myriad of other claims such as antiaging, anti wrinkle, whitening, UV-protection, cell regeneration, etc.
With the existence of twin oils that are not identical in terms of color, developers of perfume products, cosmetics and various other care products, can now choose the most suitable tamanu oil for your best product formulation.
