The Green Active Beauty Ingredient
In the standard for naming cosmetic ingredients, INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) — Virgin Tamanu Oil is listed as Calophyllum inophyllum Seed Oil. There are at least 20 of the world’s biggest names that carry this ingredient, and more than 3,700 formulations that use this ingredient in various beauty and care products.
Even the biggest global player who carry it use the trade name Nyamplung Oil, the term Nyamplung is only known in this country, especially Java. So we know where they get their raw materials from, really from us!
What makes this one oil so widely used? Virgin Tamanu Oil at INCI is listed as an active ingredient — that is, a nutritious ingredient — which makes a cosmetic or treatment product entitled to the properties that they claim on these products.
For virgin tamanu oil, the efficacy claims are so broad in scope as I have summarized some of them in the image below. From this we can see that almost any beauty/care product that we want to make — can use this oil as the main ingredient.
Ironically, this material is so valuable and so widely useful, it almost absent from our attention. Even his name-not many of us know it. Oil-producing seeds are scattered in our forests and beaches and only a small part is used. For those of you who are interested in processing it from upstream to downstream, God willing, we from the Green Waqf movement are ready to accompany you
