So That the Best Are Not Eliminated

There are orders that at first glance seem simple, but when no one cares — we all lose one of our best sustenance. What command is that? That is the command to pay attention to the fruit that is ripe on the tree, the passage of the verse reads: “…Pay attention to the fruit when the tree bears fruit, and (pay attention to) its ripeness…” (Surah 6:99).

The most delicious fruit in taste and aroma is the fruit that is ripe on the tree. But those of us who live in urban areas find it difficult to taste it — because the fruit that reaches us has been on its way for days before it reaches our dinner table. So it’s ripe on the street or market!

Ripe fruit on the tree can not be mixed with other fruits that are not ripe — because it will accelerate the ripening and spoilage process before reaching the hands of consumers. Why is that?

When the fruit ripens, it releases a ripening hormone in the form of ethylene gas. When this gas is ‘smelled’ by other fruits that have not ripened — then these fruits ripen prematurely too.

When the fruit is still unripe, humans do not like it and neither the microbes a— the fruit will last longer. When the fruit is ripe, humans start to like to eat it so like microbes. Microbes will grow exponentially which leads to fruit decay.

Now, after we carry out the above command, we among other things become aware of the ripening process of this fruit — we will be able to handle it specifically.

It is not only ethylene gas that is produced by the fruit when it ripens, but also various esters, lactones, aldehydes and terpenes which together make up the aroma.

With the right technology, we will be able to capture all the nutrients and even the aroma of the fruit ripening on the tree before the bat catch on. Bats are given a very sharp sense of smell so they can smell the aroma of ripe fruit from far away, while humans are given revelation as well as reason — if both are used, they can certainly precede the bat in taking one of the best sustenance, namely the fruit ripe on the tree.
