Imagine if you are a resident of this country who lives on one of the small islands of the 17,500 islands that we have. The distance between the islands is 9 hours, 12 hours and even 32 hours by sea from the nearest district city.

Where does the electricity that lights your home come from, what fuels the small boats that are the lifeblood of your economy? The answer is the same, the diesel is imported from the city which is 9–32 hours by sea above.

What happens when the tide season arrives? Fuel supply is limited, houses go dark and the economy stops. And because the wave season like this can last for weeks, then during that time the houses are dark and the economy is paralyzed.

That is why we introduced the concept of Local Fuel, which is fuel that is produced and used in the same place. This is not just a discourse, but actually we made it happen. The photo below are small reactors with a capacity of 20–80 liters per hour, enough to serve one village on the island/most remote area.

The raw material can be anything from locally grown oil plants. It can be from tamanu seeds, coconut, rubber seeds, peanuts, etc.

Of course there is still a lot that can be improved from the concept of this Local Fuel, but at least if we start swinging our feet to move, sooner or later, God willing, we will definitely reach our destination.
